Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Brasilia (2-5) was rolled over at home by seventh ranked Minas (5-3) 94-74 on Saturday. Minas outrebounded Brasilia 43-20 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) fired 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Renan Lenz (207-1990, college: Utah) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Gemadinha Sacco (183-1997) produced 15 points and forward Paulo Scheuer (203-1999) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Five Minas and four Brasilia players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Minas. They moved-up to fifth place. Brasilia at the other side keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Minas will meet at home Sao Jose (#7) in the next round. Brasilia will have a break next round.
