There was no surprise in Carolina where 5th ranked Gigantes (5-9) were defeated by first ranked Atenienses (10-4) 70-66 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Atenienses made 7 blocks. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Linnae Harper (175-1995, college: Ohio St.) stepped up and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and center Kelsey Bone (193-1991, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds.
