Regular Season Round 13: Zarate Basket - GELP 99-93

There was no surprise when 10th ranked GELP (4-7) lost on the road to second ranked Zarate Basket (8-3) 99-93 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Zarate Basket made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. Agustin Brocal (191-1997) nailed 30 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winning side and center Sebastian Chaine (201-1986) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists. Point guard Carlos Gianella (181) came up with 31 points and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and center Franco Barroso (207-1994) added 12 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for GELP in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zarate Basket keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Ciclista. Loser GELP keeps the tenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with CAO Ceres and Tucuman. Zarate Basket will meet league's leader Ciclista in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. GELP will have a break next round.
