Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#1) and Colonias G. (#2). San Jose (6-0) crushed visiting Colonias G. (2-4) by 31 points 100-69. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Colonias G.'s 34. They outrebounded Colonias G. 45-30 including a 41-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Jose players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Colonias G.'s players. Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) nailed 21 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winning side and Argentinian forward Sebastian Picton (197-1992) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four San Jose players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Corbalan (185-1998) came up with 23 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Leandro Ferreira (184-1994) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Colonias G. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Jose have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-0 record. Colonias G. at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Libertad A. and Olimpia K..
