There was no surprise in Cordoba where 7th ranked Obras (5-5) was defeated by fifth ranked Atenas (6-3) 65-54 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was guard Matias Stanic (185-2005) who scored 20 points. Ecuadorian guard Erick Mecias (184-2003) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Atenas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) produced 16 points and Chilean point guard Felipe Inyaco (192-2002) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Atenas moved-up to fourth place. Loser Obras keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Argentino. Atenas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obras will play against the league's leader Instituto (#1) in Cordoba and hope to secure a win.
