Regular Season Round 8: Malvin - Defensor 75-65

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#5) and Defensor (#7). Malvin (5-3) won against visiting Defensor (3-4) 75-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Defensor. American guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-1991, college: Chaminade, agency: Players Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized German Kiril Wachsmann (203-1984, college: Iona) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Malvin's coach Federico Camina allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Sebastian Ottonello (200-1997) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Jamaican Quintrell Thomas (203-1990, college: UNLV) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Defensor. Malvin moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Trouville. Defensor at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with L.Borges. Malvin's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Goes.
