Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Union SF (2-7) lost to eighth ranked San Martin (5-2) in Corrientes 70-85 on Saturday. Point guard Santiago Ferreyra (188-1997) notched 21 points to lead the effort and international Javier Saiz (206-1994) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four San Martin players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds by Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for Union SF. Naturalized Spanish swingman Maximiliano Martin (190-1990) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Martin moved-up to seventh place. Union SF lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with seven games lost. San Martin will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Union SF will play against Quimsa (#6) and hope to secure a win.
