There was an upset in Buenos Aires where higher ranked Berazategui (5-5) was edged by twelfth ranked Rocamora (3-5) 68-65 on Saturday. Rocamora made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Berazategui outrebounded Rocamora 36-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. Point guard Antonella Gonzalez (155-1990) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Irina Figueroa (168-1998) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. Four Rocamora players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international center Florencia Fernandez (189-1986) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks and guard Florencia Galban (167-1999) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Rocamora moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Union Florida and Ameghino. Berazategui lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Rocamora will meet at home Union Florida (#10) in the next round. Berazategui will play against Pacifico (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
