Important game to mention about took place in La Rioja. Nineteenth ranked Riachuelo LR (3-4) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th placed Gimnasia CR (7-5) 72-70 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gimnasia CR. Forward Lautaro Velazquez (201-2002) stepped up and scored 29 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Mateo Corso (185-2003) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Ramiro Stehli (190-2002) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Dominican swingman Angel Reyes (201-2002) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Gimnasia CR players scored in double figures. Riachuelo LR moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Penarol. Gimnasia CR at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Riachuelo LR will play against Penarol (#15) in Mar del Plata in the next round. Gimnasia CR will play at home against Comunicaciones (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
