Regular Season Round 10: Platense - San Lorenzo 88-82

There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Platense (4-5) defeated 12th ranked San Lorenzo (4-7) in Florida 88-82 on Sunday. Uruguayan-Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) notched 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Victor Fernandez (180-1999) supported him with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Lucas Perez (184-1987) did not help to save the game for San Lorenzo. Sebastian Lugo (195) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Five Platense and four San Lorenzo players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Platense moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Boca. Loser San Lorenzo dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Argentino. Platense will meet at home higher ranked La Union (#11) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. San Lorenzo will play against Ferro in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
