Rather expected game when 7th ranked H.Americano (5-6) lost to fifth ranked Lanus (7-5) in Buenos Aires 73-81 on Tuesday. The winners were led by forward Martin Franchino (201-1993) who scored that evening 13 points and 9 rebounds and Jorge Banegas (190-1993, agency: BIG) supported him with 17 points. Even 20 points and 7 assists by the former international point guard Lucas Reyes (181-2000) did not help to save the game for H.Americano. Point guard Ezequiel Paz (190-2001, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lanus moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Colon SF. H.Americano at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Libertad and Dep Viedma. Lanus will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. H.Americano will play against GELP (#16) in La Plata and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the La Liga just one year after relegation.
