Tenth-ranked Caxias do Sul (5-6) gave a tough game to top-ranked Vivo/Franca (12-0) in Sao Paulo on Saturday. Vivo/Franca managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83. However their fans expected much easier game. The former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Lucas Mariano (208-1993) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. They share the position with Sao Jose. Vivo/Franca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
