Regular Season Round 19: GEPU - Jachal 76-78

There was an upset when 4th placed GEPU (9-4) was edged by sixteenth ranked Jachal (4-9) in San Luis 78-76 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for guard Jorge Mas Delfino (194-1997) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Luciano Tambucci (194-1998) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Santiago Costa came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Gustavo Acosta (198-1989) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for GEPU in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Jachal moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted GEPU keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Jachal will meet higher ranked Rivadavia (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GEPU will play against Villa S.Martin and hope to secure a win.
