There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Ameghino (4-6) beat at home higher ranked Cordoba (6-4) 49-44 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Paraguayan forward Paloma Niz (175-1999) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Center Violeta Maggi (185-2004) chipped in 12 points. Ameghino's coach Ramiro Ortiz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Agustina Garcia (173-1996, agency: BIG) produced 15 points and the former international forward Julieta Armesto (179-1994) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ameghino moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Cordoba keeps the fourth position with four games lost.
