Very expected game when 17th ranked Cerrado (2-10) lost to seventh ranked Paulistano (8-5) in Brasilia 80-93. Paulistano dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cerrado's 32 and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adyel Borges (188-2002) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and American point guard Nate Barnes (182-1990, college: ABU) who added 21 points during the contest. Paulistano's coach Demetrius Ferraciu allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Anthony Harris (196, college: Chicago St.) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Rashaun McLemore (195-1986, college: CSUN) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Paulistano and four Cerrado players scored in double figures. Paulistano have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Pinheiros. Cerrado lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with U.Corinthians and Rio Claro. Paulistano will play against Sao Jose (#10) at home in the next round. Cerrado will play against the league's leader Vivo/Franca (#1) in Sao Paulo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
