Regular Season Round 18: Union - Obras 42-75

There was no surprise in Santa Fe where 16th ranked Union (5-8) was crushed by twelfth ranked Obras (7-9) 75-42 on Friday. Obras dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Union's 18 and made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Obras forced 22 Union turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Victor Perez (187-2005) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Obras players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Matias Fleury (-2001) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Lorenzo Micheloni (195-2001) scored 8 points. Union's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Obras moved-up to ninth place. Union lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Obras will meet at home Argentino (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. Union will play against Atenas and hope to secure a win.
