Regular Season Round 12: Cerrado - Sao Paulo 101-94

The most important game in the last round took place in Brasilia between third ranked Sao Paulo (10-2) and seventeenth ranked Cerrado (2-10) on Saturday night. Sao Paulo was defeated by Cerrado in a tough game on the road 94-101. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Sao Paulo. It was a good game for American point guard Keyron Sheard (188-1986, college: Chattanooga, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 assists. The other American import guard Rashaun McLemore (195-1986, college: CSUN) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international Betinho Duarte (195-1988) replied with 22 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American guard Malcolm Miller (201-1991, college: Southern) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sao Paulo. Five Cerrado and four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Cerrado moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with U.Corinthians and Rio Claro. Sao Paulo at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. Cerrado is looking forward to face league's leader Vivo/Franca in Sao Paulo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sao Paulo will play at home against the league's second-placed Flamengo where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
