Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Penarol (6-6) lost to second ranked Obera (12-2) in Mar del Plata 73-82 on Saturday. Obera outrebounded Penarol 31-20 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Francisco Tarnowyk (192-2001) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Nicolas Quiroga (191-2003) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-2004) came up with 19 points and Ignacio Bednarek (206-2001) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Penarol in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Penarol's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Obera have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-2 record behind leader Instituto. Loser Penarol dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Riachuelo LR. Obera will meet at home Olimpico (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Penarol will play against Gimnasia CR (#3) in Comodoro Rivadavia and hope to secure a win.
