There was no surprise in Pato Branco where 13th ranked Pato (4-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Minas (10-4) 88-74 on Wednesday. Minas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Pato's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international power forward Renan Lenz (207-1990, college: Utah) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Wesley Ferreira (200-1995) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Minas players scored in double figures. Jonatan Oliveira (188-1999) responded with 20 points and forward Magna Silva (201-1998) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Pato's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Minas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-4 record, which they share with Corinthians. Pato at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with ten games lost. Minas will meet higher ranked Sao Paulo (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pato will have a break next round.
