Regular Season Round 16: Cerrado - Pato Basquete 109-110
Date: January 5, 2023
Important game to mention about took place in Brasilia. Thirteenth ranked Pato (5-11) saved a 1-point derby victory on the road edging 16th ranked Cerrado (3-13) 110-109 on Thursday evening. Pato shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. The winners were led by Colombian guard Romario Roque (180-1998) who scored that evening 30 points and 6 assists and Jonatan Oliveira (188-1999) supported him with 29 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Pato's coach Jece Leite allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 25 points and 6 assists by American guard Rashaun McLemore (195-1986, college: CSUN) did not help to save the game for Cerrado. His fellow American import guard Anthony Harris (196, college: Chicago St.) added 21 points and 6 assists for lost side. Four Pato and five Cerrado players scored in double figures. Pato maintains thirteenth position with 5-11 record. Cerrado at the other side keeps the sixteenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Rio Claro. Pato will play against league's second-placed Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cerrado will have a break next round.
