Basketball Champions League Americas
Regular Season Round 4: Obras - Concepcion 69-90
Date: January 13, 2023
An interesting game for Chilean Concepcion (1-3) which played road game in Buenos Aires against their biggest opponent Argentinian Obras (1-2). Third ranked Concepcion had an easy win 90-69. Concepcion outrebounded Obras 42-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-1984, college: UNC) who scored that evening 26 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Jerry Evans (203-1990, college: Nevada) supported him with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds by Uruguayan forward Emiliano Serres (205-1997, agency: Pro Sports) did not help to save the game for Obras. Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) added 21 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Chilean champion maintains third position with 1-3 record behind leader Sesi Franca. Obras at the other side keep the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Instituto. Concepcion will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obras will play against the league's leader Vivo/Franca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
