There was no surprise in Chaco where 17th ranked Sarmiento R. (2-14) was defeated by eighth ranked Independiente (9-8) 96-87 on Friday. Independiente made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sarmiento R. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Emiliano Correa (188-1991) who added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Independiente players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Alejo Traverso (179-1998) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Andres Mariani (190-1987) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Independiente have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Sarmiento R. lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 14 games lost.
