Regular Season Round 24: Platense - Independ.O. 80-75

There was an upset in Florida where higher ranked Independ.O. (10-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Platense (8-11) 80-75 on Tuesday. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Felipe Massa (184-2002) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Juan Frigerio (170-2003) who added 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Platense players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Matias Bernan (196-2001) with 25 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and guard Nicolas Marcucci (190-2002) scored 23 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Platense maintains fourteenth position with 8-11 record. Independ.O. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Penarol. Platense will meet at home higher ranked Penarol (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Independ.O. will play against Ferro in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
