Regular Season Round 18: Hebraica - Urupan 80-83

The most exciting game of round 18 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Hebraica (11-7) to eleventh ranked Urupan (7-10) 83-80 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Urupan dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Hebraica's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for point guard Mateo Sarni (185-1998) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 assists and 5 steals. American forward Eric Ferguson (203-1989, college: Georgia South) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-1988, college: ODU) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Dominican guard Adonys Henriquez (201-1994, college: St.Louis) added 21 points in the effort for Hebraica. Five Urupan and four Hebraica players scored in double figures. Hebraica's coach Leonardo Zylberstein rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Urupan have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Defensor and Urunday. Hebraica at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Urupan is looking forward to face higher ranked Trouville (#7) in Montevideo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hebraica's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Nacional.
