Regular Season Round 4: Concepcion - Temuco 127-60

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Temuco (0-3) was outscored on the road by top-ranked Concepcion (2-0) 127-60 on Sunday. Concepcion dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Temuco's 36. Concepcion forced 26 Temuco turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Temuco's players. The winners were led by the former international point guard Sebastian Carrasco (180-2000) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international point guard Diego Silva (186) supported him with 19 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. Five Concepcion players scored in double figures. Concepcion's coach Cipriano Nunez felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds by Brazilian power forward Diego Dias Silva (207-1990) did not help to save the game for Temuco. The former international center Carlos Aranda (200) added 20 points for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Loser Temuco still closes the standings with three games lost. Concepcion will meet at home league's leader Ancud in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Temuco will play against Espanol O. (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
