Regular Season Round 2: Quimsa - Olimpico 56-45

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Olimpico's road loss to Quimsa in Santiado del Estero 45-56 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Quimsa made 8 blocks. Point guard Sofia Acevedo (167-2001) notched 19 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) to lead the effort and naturalized Colombian center Malvina D'Agostino (184-2001) supported her with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Even 13 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) by guard Laila Raviolo (180-2000) did not help to save the game for Olimpico. Point guard Juana Amaya (160-2005) added 7 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimsa will meet Riachuelo LR in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Olimpico will play against Montmartre in Catamarca and hope to win that game.
