Regular Season Round 28: Racing - Del Progreso 81-67

Leader Racing delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they beat 13th ranked Del Progreso (7-11) 81-67 in Chivilcoy. Racing made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Del Progreso turnovers. Strangely Del Progreso outrebounded Racing 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Del Progreso was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Emilio Stucky (198-1994) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Alejo Barrales (174-1991) contributed with 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Five Racing players scored in double figures. Swingman Gustavo Maranguello (190-1983) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds and guard Julian Ruiz (185-1998) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Del Progreso. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Racing maintains first position with 16-4 record. Del Progreso lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Jachal. Racing will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Del Progreso will play at home against La Union (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
