A very close game took place in Montevideo (derby !!!) between Defensor and Penarol. Tenth ranked Defensor (8-10) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Penarol (9-8). Defensor managed to escape with a 2-point win 70-68 on Tuesday evening. American-Haitian forward Wes Alcegaire (198-1994, college: BGSU) fired 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Dion Wright (201-1993, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Charles Thomas (202-1986, college: Arkansas) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and Alex Lopez (186-1993) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defensor have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Urupan. Penarol at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Defensor's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Malvin.
