Regular Season Round 28: Independiente - Montmartre 74-71

There was no surprise in Santiago del Estero where 11th ranked Montmartre (7-12) was edged by sixth ranked Independiente (11-8) 74-71 on Tuesday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Tomas Allende (190-2002) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Emiliano Correa (188-1991) who added 12 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four Independiente players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Richard Granberry (203-1993, college: Virginia St.) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Francisco Conrradi (191-2003) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Independiente have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Montmartre lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with CAO Ceres. Independiente will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Montmartre will play against Villa S.Martin (#8) in Resistencia and hope to secure a win.
