Regular Season Round 28: Pilar - Rocamora 83-78

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Pilar (7-13) won against at home higher ranked Rocamora (10-9) 83-78 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Rocamora 38-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Greek-American forward Tommy Demogerontas (203-1997, college: IUP) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds and Franco Smaniotti (194-2000) who added 28 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Pilar's coach Roberto Pavlotsky used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side guard Matias Caire (188-1999) responded with 16 points and center Alejandro Quigley (203-1993, agency: BIG) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his fifteen free throws !!!). Four Rocamora players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Pilar maintains fourteenth position with 7-13 record, which they share with GELP and Rivadavia. Loser Rocamora dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Colon SF. Pilar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rocamora will play against the league's second-placed Ciclista (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
