There was no surprise in Rio Gallegos where 14th ranked Pilar (7-14) was defeated by fifth ranked H.Americano (12-6) 81-72 on Sunday. H.Americano forced 25 Pilar turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Lucas Reyes (181-2000) who scored 30 points and 5 assists. Point guard Ezequiel Paz (190-2001, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. H.Americano's coach Sebastian Torre used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Greek-American forward Tommy Demogerontas (203-1997, college: IUP) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Franco Smaniotti (194-2000) added 16 points respectively. H.Americano have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Pilar dropped to the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. H.Americano will meet at home higher ranked Zarate Basket (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pilar will have a break next round.
