Regular Season Round 6: Puerto Varas - Catolica 99-51

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Puerto Varas (4-2) smashed at home 13th ranked Catolica (1-5) 99-51 on Sunday. Puerto Varas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Catolica's 30. They outrebounded Catolica 47-26 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Puerto Varas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Catolica's players. American power forward Rasheed Worrell (203-1996, college: Lynn) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Antonio Pinedo (195) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Worrell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. Coach Leonardo Monsalvez's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward TJ Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) with 10 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Pablo Allegrini (-2000) scored 13 points. Puerto Varas moved-up to fourth place. Loser Catolica dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Puerto Varas will meet Castro (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Catolica will play against the league's leader Los Leones and hope to win that game.
