Regular Season Round 11: UCA - Santa Tecla F1 47-63

The game between third ranked UCA (5-4) and seventh ranked Santa Tecla F1 (2-7) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. UCA was defeated by Santa Tecla F1 at home 63-47. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of UCA. Santa Tecla F1 forced 31 UCA turnovers. Strangely UCA outrebounded Santa Tecla F1 42-26 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Santa Tecla F1 made 11 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Camila Lima (172-2003) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Gracia Flamenco (173-2000) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Santa Tecla F1 players scored in double figures. Santa Tecla F1's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Rosa Reyes (162-1989) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and Yashary Hernandez (170-1999) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Santa Tecla F1 maintains seventh place with 2-7 record. UCA at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Teclenas. Santa Tecla F1 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UCA will play against Opico and is hoping to win this game.
