Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Valdivia and 6th ranked Quilicura had identical 4-2 record. This time Valdivia used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Quilicura 90-79 on Sunday night. Valdivia made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-1989) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Argentinian Juan Manuel Rivero (191-1985) supported him with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Valdivia players scored in double figures. Even 31 points and 4 assists by Cuban guard Adriano Barreras (186-1989) did not help to save the game for Quilicura. American forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) added 20 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valdivia (5-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Espanol O. Loser Quilicura dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Puente Alto. Valdivia will meet Castro (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Quilicura will play against Puerto Montt (#12) and hope to secure a win.
