Regular Season Round 8: Tinguiririca - Las Animas 85-104
Date: February 5, 2023
Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Las Animas (4-4) rolled over 13th ranked Tinguiririca (1-6) in San Fernando 104-85 on Sunday. Las Animas made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Las Animas outrebounded Tinguiririca 44-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American-Dominican center Justin Satchell (203-1995, college: St.Leo) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) supported him with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Las Animas players scored in double figures. Even 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Felipe Gonzalez Flores (180-1994) did not help to save the game for Tinguiririca. Forward Juan Carrasco added 26 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Las Animas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 4-4 record. Tinguiririca lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Catolica. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
