Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked La Union (10-13) lost to second ranked Ciclista (17-7) in Colon 83-87 on Monday. The winners were led by swingman Manuel Lambrisca (192-1997) who scored that evening 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and center Facundo Jerez (202-1995) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Ciclista's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by center German Frencia (202-1988) did not help to save the game for La Union. Forward Cesar Lavoratornuovo (189-1991) added 24 points for the hosts. Ciclista maintains second position with 17-7 record having five points less than leader Racing, which they share with Zarate Basket. La Union lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Villa S.Martin. Ciclista will meet at home Dep Viedma (#4) in the next round. La Union will play against Parque Sur (#17) in Concepcion de Urug. and hope to secure a win.
