There was no surprise in Santiago where 4th placed Sameji (0-5) was defeated by leader Fenix (5-0) 115-102 on Tuesday. Guard Yensi Jimenez (189-1998) stepped up and scored 45 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Jefry Arias (182-1997) chipped in 21 points and 7 assists. Forward Jonathan Aybar (206-2001, college: UNF) responded with 30 points and Randy Toribio scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Fenix and five Sameji players scored in double figures. Fenix have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Loser Sameji still closes the standings with five games lost. Fenix will meet at home Del Patio (#4) in the next round. Sameji will play against Evolve OL and hopes to get finally their first victory.
