There was a surprise result in Florida where eighteenth ranked Olimpico (7-14) beat higher ranked Platense (10-13) 63-59 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Platense 38-23 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Carlos Hurtado who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Luciano Caceres (180-2001) helped adding 21 points (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side swingman Mariano Goicoechea (195-2004) responded with 21 points and point guard Felipe Massa (184-2002) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Platense's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Olimpico moved-up to seventeenth place. Loser Platense dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Olimpico will meet at home league's leader Obera in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Platense will play against Argentino (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
