Regular Season Round 28: Penarol - Atenas 103-84

No shocking result in a game in Mar del Plata where seventh ranked Penarol (15-8) smashed bottom-ranked Atenas (1-23) 103-84 on Wednesday. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Jose Defelippo (186-1997) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Tomas Monacchi (198-1997) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Alejandro Konsztadt (191-1989) responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Octavio Sarmiento (198-2001) scored 19 points. Five Penarol and four Atenas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Penarol moved-up to sixth place. Atenas lost twenty second consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Penarol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenas will play against San Lorenzo (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
