Regular Season Round 32: Dep Norte - GEPU 66-60

There was a minor upset when 4th ranked GEPU (15-7) lost to sixth ranked Dep Norte (12-9) in Armstrong 60-66 on Wednesday. Dep Norte outrebounded GEPU 46-35 including 36 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Franco Borsellino who scored that evening 15 points and 8 assists and guard Franco Montemagio (185-2002) supported him with 14 points. Dep Norte's coach Alejandro Cupulutti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) did not help to save the game for GEPU. His fellow American import guard Randy Haynes (193-1995, college: ODU, agency: SLN) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Dep Norte have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 12-9 record. Newly promoted GEPU keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
