Regular Season Round 5: Quimsa - Ameghino 49-46

Sixth-ranked Ameghino (1-6) was very close to win a game against second ranked Quimsa (6-1) in Santiado del Estero. Quimsa managed to secure only three-point victory 49-46. However their fans expected much easier game. Quimsa made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Point guard Sofia Acevedo (167-2001) stepped up and scored 17 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners and naturalized Colombian center Malvina DAgostino (184-2001) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. Uruguayan point guard Josefina Zeballos (173-2003) responded with 16 points and Paraguayan forward Paloma Niz (175-1999) scored 12 points and 6 steals. Quimsa keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Union Florida. Ameghino lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with six games lost. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ameghino will play at home against Montmartre (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
