Bottom-ranked Opico is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to second ranked Costa Rica (9-1) 112-28. Costa Rica held Opico to an opponent 17.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Costa Rica forced 29 Opico turnovers and outrebounded them 55-37 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Opico's players. Guard Heimy Lopez (167-2004) stepped up and scored 39 points (!!!) for the winners and Alicia Abarca (165-1997) chipped in 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Costa Rica players scored in double figures.
