There was no surprise when 16th ranked Tucuman (5-18) was outplayed on the road by thirteenth ranked Rivadavia (9-13) 88-65 on Monday. Rivadavia outrebounded Tucuman 45-31 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was center Abel Trejo (204-1990) who scored 6 points and 14 rebounds. Swingman Luciano Silva (190-1996) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jose Muruaga (188-1984) who recorded 12 points and 5 assists and Ignacio Echevarria (195-1998) added 13 points respectively. Four Tucuman players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rivadavia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to twelfth place. Tucuman lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Rivadavia will meet higher ranked Montmartre (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tucuman will play against GEPU (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
