Regular Season Round 24: Urupan - Bigua 98-90

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Bigua (17-5) on the court of tenth ranked Urupan on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Urupan 98-90. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-1993, college: UW-Parkside) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Hernando Caceres (202-1994) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Brazilian center Luis Santos (194-1994) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds (perfect from the field making all thirteen shots !!!) and American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) added 27 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Bigua. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Urupan maintains tenth position with 9-14 record, which they share with L.Borges and Urunday. Defending champion Bigua still keeps top place with five games lost. Urupan is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Olimpia (#13) in Montevideo in the next round. Bigua's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Aguada.
