No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Minas (17-6) crushed bottom-ranked Cerrado (4-19) in Belo Horizonte 99-70 on Wednesday. Minas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Cerrado's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Cerrado's players. The winners were led by Wesley Ferreira (200-1995) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) supported him with 12 points and 9 assists. Five Minas players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 4 assists by American point guard Keyron Sheard (188-1986, college: Chattanooga, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Cerrado. Guard Paulo Da Costa (193-1994) added 8 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Minas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 17-6 record. Cerrado lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 19 games lost. Minas will meet league's second-placed Flamengo in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
