Everything went according to plan in San Luis where fourth ranked GEPU (17-7) beat 11th ranked Rivadavia (10-16) 88-78 on Friday. GEPU dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rivadavia's 36. The best player for the winners was American guard Randy Haynes (193-1995, college: ODU, agency: SLN) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Guido Francese (192-1998) who recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Franco Sampaulise (180-2000) added 15 points respectively. Four GEPU and five Rivadavia players scored in double figures. Rivadavia's coach Sergio Andreoli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted GEPU maintains fourth position with 17-7 record. Loser Rivadavia dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Pilar.
