Liga Mayor top team - San Salvador (3-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Santa Ana 2 (0-4) 83-41. San Salvador held Santa Ana 2 to an opponent 19.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.1 percent accuracy of the winners. San Salvador forced 23 Santa Ana 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Santa Ana 2's players. The winners were led by Elisa Dominguez (165-2000) who scored that evening 25 points and naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-1993, college: NDN) supported her with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Tevez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. San Salvador's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by guard Melany Sanchez (167-2004) did not help to save the game for Santa Ana 2. Forward Sofia Zavala (167-2005) added 10 points and 14 rebounds for lost side. San Salvador have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory San Salvador went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Santa Ana 2 still closes the standings with four games lost. San Salvador will meet at home LMMR 2 (#4) in the next round. Santa Ana 2 will have a break next round.
