Regular Season Round 1: Lobas - Quetzales 75-84

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Lobas in Ciudad de Mexico on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Quetzales 84-75. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) for the winners and Melissa Gutierrez chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Quetzales players scored in double figures. At the losing side Maria Fausto responded with 22 points and power forward Joselyne Padilla scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. Lobas' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Quetzales will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lobas will play on the road against Racers in Saltillo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
