Regular Season Round 1: Teporacas - Mexcaltecas 85-55

There was a minor upset when Mexcaltecas were rolled over on the road by Teporacas 85-55 on Saturday. Teporacas forced 27 Mexcaltecas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Mexcaltecas' players. American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-1993, college: Louisville) fired 23 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The former international Sofia Payan (167-2000) chipped in 23 points and 6 assists. Four Teporacas players scored in double figures. Teporacas' coach felt very confident using 11 players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Jessica Torres (175-1992) produced 9 points and 12 rebounds and Marcela Dominguez added 14 points respectively for lost side. Teporacas will meet Lenadoras in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Mexcaltecas will play against Mieleras in Guanajuato and hope to win that game.
