The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated San Salvador (3-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Santa Tecla 2 (3-0) 73-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of San Salvador. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Santa Tecla 2 forced 20 San Salvador turnovers. Strangely San Salvador outrebounded Santa Tecla 2 41-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) who added 18 points and 14 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-1993, college: NDN) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and Monica Calderon (175-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. San Salvador's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Santa Tecla 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. San Salvador at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Santa Tecla 2 will play against Salvadorenas 2 (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San Salvador will play against LMMR 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
